Publication of the Revised National Frequency Plan
In accordance with the Electronic Communications (Regulation) Act (Cap. 399), the MCA published edition 7.1 of the National Frequency Plan (NFP). This edition incorporates various revisions to edition 7 (January 2025) which has been superseded.
The purpose of the revisions to the NFP is to designate radio spectrum in accordance with EU law, specifically the following Commission Implementing Decisions:
- Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/105 as regards short-range devices within various frequency bands;
- Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1538 as regards short-range devices within the 874-876 MHz and 915-921 MHz frequency bands; and
- Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/913 as regards wireless access systems including radio local areas networks (WAS/RLANs) in the 5945-6425 MHz frequency band.

In order to fully implement the above-mentioned Commission Implementing Decisions, the MCA has also updated the apparatus general authorisation framework established by Decision No. MCA/D/22-4662. In this regard the following Schedules have been published:
- Schedule 03 – WAS/RLANs (amended Schedule)
- Schedule 04 – Non-specific short-range devices (amended Schedule)
- Schedule 05 – Radiocommunications apparatus used for inductive applications
- Schedule 06 – Wireless audio programme making and special events (PMSE) apparatus
- Schedule 07 – Assistive listening radiocommunications apparatus
- Schedule 08 – Radiocommunications apparatus used for medical applications
- Schedule 09 – Alarm radiocommunications apparatus
- Schedule 13 – Transport and traffic telematics radiocommunications apparatus
- Schedule 16 – Apparatus used for radiodetermination applications
- Schedule 22 – Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFIDs)
