Career Opportunity: Logistics Support Person

Prime focus of position

The Logistics Support Person will operate in a flexible manner, providing a broad range of support duties to the organisation. He/she shall be required to work after office / irregular hours and / or weekends.

Main Responsibilities

  • Reception duties;
  • Provides internal messengerial services, distributing and collecting business materials as directed;
  • As directed receives and directs all incoming telephone calls to the appropriate personnel. Takes and forwards messages as appropriate;
  • Provides photocopying, collating and binding services as directed and ensures that materials are produced to a high standard of presentation according to instructions;
  • Sets up the boardroom and other meeting rooms according to instructions, ensuring that all requirements are in place and that the room is prepared for use;
  • Performs light maintenance work and general cleaning duties;
  • Meets and greets the Authority’s guests and clients and directs them appropriately. Where required, offers and provides basic hospitality services;
  • Identifies any shortfalls in the upkeep and maintenance of the Authority’s premises and assets, bringing any problems to the attention of the responsible superior;
  • Maintains security of the Authority’s premises including ensuring the opening and closing of the Authority’s office premises;
  • Performs facilities management work when requested; 
  • Might be assigned to drive the Authority’s official vehicle;
  • Transport staff and clients as required;
  • Collects and delivers documentation or other items that relate to the business of the Authority;
  • Ensures that the Authority’s official vehicles are kept clean throughout, are well maintained and in good running order, bringing any problems in this regard to the immediate attention of his/her direct superior; 
  • Completes all relevant mileage documentation relating to the use of the Authority’s official vehicles; 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • Secondary level of education (supported by a school leaving certificate).
  • Competent and confident driving skills, with a clean driving license.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle and general maintenance.
  • Road knowledge of main centres in Malta and Gozo.
  • Capacity to deal with staff and clients in a courteous manner, personally and over the telephone.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and operation of office equipment.
  • Good communication skills in Maltese and English.
  • Good personal presentation.
  • A recent & clean police conduct must be presented with the application.

Salary bracket is between €11,275 – €16,153. Also included:

  • Up to 15% performance bonus
  • €420 communication allowance
  • Health insurance.
