The Malta Cloud Forum announces its first initiative for 2018

The Malta Cloud Forum (MCF) kick-started its work programme for 2018 by hosting its first meeting, earlier this month.

The objective of the MCF, which is chaired by the Malta Communications Authority, is to entice and incentivise businesses, especially SMEs and Micros, to shift their operations onto the cloud, and to raise awareness on cloud computing in general.

The MCF comprises vendor-neutral stakeholders from various streams, who meet every quarter to discuss the local cloud computing scenario amongst businesses; explore new project ideas; and to plan and organise events.

This year, the MCF welcomed 3 new members representing the MEA, the GRTU, and MCAST, who joined the forum’s first meeting at the MCA. Following the success of the first event organised late last year, forum members discussed the work programme for the current year.

Throughout 2018 the MCF will be organising a number of initiatives, amongst which is the upcoming business breakfast workshop, scheduled to be held in June. The aims of this workshop, targeting SMEs and Micros, are: to delve into the tangible components of migrating onto the cloud; to map the migration journey; and to make this journey more visible to business owners with the purpose of encouraging them to move onto the cloud.

More information about the MCF’s first initiative of the year will be available on the MCA website in the upcoming weeks.
