Career Opportunity: Trust Services Specialist - EUDI
Prime focus of position
The Trust Services Specialist - EUDI will primarily focus on policy and regulatory enforcement related to National and EU Digital Policies, with a focus on the European Digital Identity Regulation (EUDI). This role primarily involves analysing and ensuring compliance with the EUDI. It also comprises analysing market trends and contributing to the development of strategic policy documents.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure that EUDI qualified trust service providers (QTSPs) and digital identity wallet issuers comply with the EUDI regulation and related standards.
- Participate in technical assessments and audits of QTSPs and wallet issuers to verify compliance with security and operational requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the regulation of QTSPs and wallet issuers.
- Monitor and assist in the response to security incidents involving QTSPs and wallet issuers, ensuring appropriate measures are taken to mitigate risks.
- Liaise with QTSPs, wallet issuers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to provide guidance and support on compliance issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and represent MCA at national and international forums.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance status, audit findings, and incident responses for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training sessions to enhance the understanding of EUDI regulation requirements among QTSPs, wallet issuers and internal teams.
Qualifications / Skills Required
Either of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree (MQF Level 6) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or a related technical field plus 2 years of industry experience in cybersecurity, trust services, electronic ID, regulatory compliance, or a related area focusing on digital services, OR
- A Master’s degree (MQF Level 7) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Preference will be given to candidates with a comprehensive understanding of National and EU Digital Policy frameworks, including EUDI, eIDAS and NIS 2.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in Government or public authorities on technical regulatory or policy matters.
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold current security-orientated certifications like CISSP and CISA.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in Maltese.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Remuneration & Benefits
Salary bracket is between €23,575 – €35,598 per annum.
In addition, the employment package will also include:
