As Malta’s designated Digital Services Coordinator (DSC), the MCA is responsible for overseeing compliance with the DSA by intermediary service providers established or have designated a legal representative in Malta. The report outlines the MCA’s work in mapping the national digital landscape, raising awareness among service providers, handling cross-border complaints, and engaging with other EU authorities through the European Board for Digital Services. Key highlights from the 2025 report include:
- A breakdown of the intermediary services established or have a legal representative in Malta.
- The transmission of nine complaints to other DSCs following assessment under Article 53 of the DSA.
- The award of Trusted Flagger status to the Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS).
- Four meetings of the Malta’s Digital Services Forum that were held as part of the MCA’s ongoing national outreach efforts.
- Active participation in all eight working groups of the European Board for Digital Services.
The report provides a detailed account of how the MCA is implementing the DSA in Malta and contributing to EU-wide coordination in safeguarding digital rights and ensuring platform accountability.
