Draft RSPG Report Assessment of future usage of the frequency band 470-694 MHz within the EU
The Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) is a high-level advisory group that assists the European Commission in the development of radio spectrum policy. In accordance with its work programme, the RSPG will continue assessing the future usage of the frequency band 470-694 MHz in the European Union.
Late last year, the RSPG issued a call for input from stakeholders on the prospects for the use of the 470-694 MHz band. The RSPG collected information from regulators, network operators, content providers, end-users of spectrum and other stakeholders on various aspects, including the established spectrum and service rights, the effects of possible spectrum refarming in industry, networks, innovation, etc. The collected information was used to prepare a report on the future use of the 470-694 MHz band in the European Union.
The Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG), in accordance with the framework of its Work Programme 2024 and beyond, has developed a draft Report Assessment of future usage of the frequency band 470-694 MHz within the EU.
The RSPG would like to invite stakeholders to provide their views and comments on the draft Report made available at https://radio-spectrum-policy-group.ec.europa.eu/consultations-0_en.
βThe deadline for responses is 31 August 2025.
