MCA reopens applications for free training in ICT as part of the ENTER project

Due to popular demand, the MCA will once again be receiving applications from adults aged 25 to 64 who are interested in following a short training course in basic ICT skills for personal use and at the workplace. This training programme is offered entirely free of charge and will be delivered by tutors specialised in adult education. Interested individuals can apply by visiting the MCA stand at the National Trade fair at the MFCC in Ta Qali.

Launched earlier this year, the project ‘ENTER’, offers individuals aged 25 to 64 the first stepping stone into the world of ICT, providing an insight on how technology can positively impact their lives and contribute to better employment opportunities, job mobility and productivity. Two training programmes are being offered as part of this project; the first programme will introduce participants to the basics of ICT in daily life contexts, whilst the second will focus on the use of ICT in work related scenarios.
To date, the response has been very encouraging, with over 4000 applications received so far. In view of such a positive response, the Authority has decided to reopen applications for a limited period only. Applications will be open during the national trade fair period only, that is, between Thursday 26th June, to Sunday 6th July. Interested individuals are invited to visit the MCA stand (stand 61) in order to complete and submit their application. It should be noted that only applications received onsite will be accepted.

Apart from receiving applications to participate in the ICT training programmes, the MCA will also be disseminating a wealth of information related to consumers' rights in the telecoms sector and the various tools available to them, as well as very interesting material related to internet safety for minors.
