Email mobility - Consultation, January 2010

The MCA is publishing a consultation document which proposes that ISPs forward email traffic to new email addresses designated by customers for a temporary period following switching to an alterntive ISP.

These proposals will facilitate subscribers switching between ISPs, by ensuring that email services do not act as a barrier to switching. The implementation of such measures will make Malta one of the first countries to introduce email mobility services.

The MCA is therefore seeking the views and comments of all interested parties and also welcomes proposals on alternative arrangements that could address the issues raised in the consultation more effectively.

All responses to this consultation should be received by the Authority by not later than Friday, 19th February 2010.
