Conference Agenda

The MCA will be holding its 20th Anniversary Conference over one full day, with the theme "Unlocking Digital Value for Society". The event will comprise a hybrid format, including both physical and virtual participation, and featuring a line-up of high-profile international and local speakers.

Although physical attendance to the Conference will be invite-only due to restrictions on the number of attendees, virtual participation will be unlimited through the livestream above.

Morning Session: A Decade of Digital Opportunities and Threats

The morning session will focus on discussing the opportunities and challenges in the decade ahead against the background of the vision set by the European Union and its plan to achieve digital transformation of European society and economy by 2030 as set out in the ‘Path to the Digital Decade’.  Amongst other topics, the conference seeks to discuss the role of collaborative infrastructures (such as innovation hubs and research centres) and policy think-tanks; building the capacity for multi-country projects; the role of data-driven regulation and emerging regulatory approaches; best practices through 5G-related and connectivity initiatives undertaken in the EU.  

Afternoon Session: Delivering Value for All in a Digital World

The afternoon session will look at the widening scope and application of regulation in provision of digital services and eCommerce in the national context.  The conference will present a case study on the implementation of the EU’s web accessibility directive bringing together the perspectives of the different stakeholders involved.
