The MCA has today published a notice for consultation regarding the future of spectrum in the 900 and 1800MHz bands.
The 900 and 1800 MHz bands have a significant economic potential. The upcoming expiry of the existing licences in these bands calls for a detailed analysis of the existing licensing framework and the developments that have taken place since the initial spectrum assignments in these bands were made. In this consultation paper the MCA puts forward proposals for the re-assignment of this spectrum. Interested parties are invited to make submissions relevant to this issue. Submissions are to be received by the Authority by not later than 30th March 2009.
